I was always told Wonderland was something strange and distant, tucked safely between the pages of a book. But the older I get, the more this world feels just as disorienting…just as… mad.
Maybe it doesn’t look the same. Maybe there are no talking rabbits or queens shouting orders. But there are moments that make me wonder if we’re not all wandering through our own version of it.
Things That Make Me Feel Like I’m Living in Wonderland
- Constantly adjusting myself to fit expectations
- Trying to fix things by consuming more food, more distractions, more anything
- Crying enough tears to feel like I could drown in them
- Being misunderstood and twisted into something I’m not
- Being accused of cheating in a game that was never fair
- Being forced to show respect to people who never earned it
- Chasing something that was never meant to be caught
- Speaking truth no one wanted to hear
- Meeting people who tried to pull me into their madness
- Running in circles, only to end up exactly where I started
- Falling into new ideas that change everything
- Understanding things that once made no sense
- Being shaped into something I was never meant to be
- Wondering, quietly, if any of this is even real
- Falling asleep in the middle of something that was supposed to keep my attention
Maybe Wonderland is the feeling of trying to make sense of something that was never meant to be clear. Life is confusing, messy, and complicated, but that is what makes it magical. If life were clear, we wouldn’t have stories that try to help us make sense of this mad, mad world. Embrace the odd. Love the upside down. Chase the rabbit. Dream your dream- no matter how big or small.
