Peace looks different to every person and don’t let anyone tell you what you do to survive isn’t necessary. If you need to sit in a dark room for an hour, cry in the shower, or scream into the void, do what you need to do to regulate yourself. No one can truly understand what people are going through, we all handle things differently and we should never judge anyone because we wouldn’t want anyone to judge us.
Here is a list of what inner peace looks like in my world:
- Vanilla macaroons and a striped hammock
- A new book and a rainy afternoon
- Hot coffee and a clean house
- My favorite song Sunrise and an empty highway
- No line and hot McDonald’s fries
- Everything found on an Instacart order
- A new pack of pens and an empty notebook
- Pizza and a Netflix series release day
- Weekend Pajamas and no errands
- Yoga, hot shower, and a nap
- Likes on a post you are proud of
- A clean kitchen and waffles in bed
- New sheets, shaved legs, and an entire bed to yourself
- Ignoring texts and scrolling through TikTok
- Soft serve ice cream and a purring kitten.
What does inner peace look like to you?
