Closing the door on parts of your life is powerful. The door doesn’t have to slam. A quiet click says it all. Is the door locked? Not necessarily. We revisit parts of ourselves that we shouldn’t, if only to remind ourselves that this was the right choice, but that doesn’t mean the door can’t close again.
It will. And it should.
Especially whatever is inside that room is something or someone we love, is stopping you from embracing the happiness in your life. It takes so much bravery to lock a piece of ourselves whenever it was such a large room in our life’s house. But recognizing what is no longer serving us is power and inner strength.
It is your soul saying, yes this hurts now, but you’ll heal quicker and more fully with this part of you gone. So let it close.
Slam it.
Gently push it shut.
Close it halfway until you are ready to block out that person, problem, job, addiction, or whatever you no longer need in your life.
It is your soul.
Your home.
You choose whatever doors remain open.
